Mis Centinelas
I love to open up my aperture for my pictures, especially for portraits. I like this photo because I can see where my preference for a fully open aperture is flawed. I should have stopped in down bit to get both of these boys in focus.
Were they guarding me or was I guarding our belongings from them? I was in a pretty bad car accident in Guerrero, Mexico a couple years ago. Out of the four of us I was put in charge of staying with the car while one of my friends went to find a tow truck and the other two went to pay off the owner of the 18 wheeler that hit us. Yeah he hit us but we crossed that center line so it was our fault. Anyway, I sat with these two boys for hours camera in one hand and spanish dictionary in the other. They never left my side.

I love black and white. This blog is dedicated to my black and white work. I sometimes take pictures in color to document my life and share then on Facebook. Rarely do I think a color picture worth a crap. And never have I shared one on this blog but here it is, the best color photograph I have ever taken.
I like taking pictures of people so what made me take this picture of a tractor? I don’t know! I really like it though. It’s one of my faves.

Last time I was here my grandfather got so drunk that when I asked him for a quarter he would say, “Oh, You mean another $5!” and give it to me. I spent hours that day playing games thanks to his drunk ass.

While I was sitting at the base of the clock tower on Main St. in Cape Girardeau, MO. I looked to the left, saw this shot and captured it. It’s funny how for weeks I had this idea of a shot of Main St. with the bridge in the background, I thought how it would be the quintessential representation of this river town, and how it would be my next great shot but while actually on that shoot, waiting for the traffic and the light to be just right, I looked over, thinking “oh cool”, and produced this.
It makes me wonder if there is any skill to what I do or if it is all just luck.
